Bangkok Day 3 and 4

Day 3 - 6 Mar 10

Planned to go Chatuchak for shopping. Before that, we went to Chidlom for Mac donald breakfast. Look at the butter, the staff had to look in the kitchen for the butter. It was unlike the Singapore's packed butter.

Our hotel outlook. Did not take photo of Chatuchak. Busy shopping.

Day 4 - 7 Mar 10

Woke up early. Took a cab to Hua Lamphong railway station around 5.30am. Reached around 5.45am. Bought a chocolate donut from Mister Donuts at the station and ate it. We had also packed some buns and drinks yesterday but the donut seems more attractive than my buns.

Checked with the information counter and the staff told us that we would board our train at platform 11. We waited at the seats available till we saw that the "Nam Tok" turned green on the boarding screen.

The train at platform 11 was going to 2 location. We checked with the staff on the train and she told us to board the cabin at the back.

We saw this "Excusion train Bangkok - Namtok". Boarded it and located our seats. Our seats were not on the left side =( I can't remember...next time if I were to go Kanchanaburi again, I should buy seat 31 and 35 located at the left side, near window, facing each other.

We shall look at the seat before we sit down. The couple opposite us sat on a pool of ants. They did not realise / feel it.

We thought the train were not fully occupied as there were available seats at Hua Lamphong station. However, the next station, more people boarded the train and occupied all the seats. The couple opposite us changed their seats but returned at the next stop. We planned to change initially, however, we returned cos the available seats were next to toilet.

Oh ya, I mentioned that the train went to 2 location. Well, I was wondering how a train can go to 2 different location and told yuling that maybe the train detached and went different ways and it really did! We were left with 3 or 4 cabins after detached.

1st stop - Nakom Pathom, 40 mins

Oh well, we were so happily crossing the railway track. By the way, everything that went down the toilet went to the railway track. We saw shit at the railway track! YUCKS!

There was this uncle wearing security gaurd uniform entertaining the visitors. He spoke in Thai and we could not understand. From what we saw, most of the visitors were thai. Ok. I got this slip of paper for my birthday in Mar but we did not understand what was written on it.

River Kwai Bridge, 25 mins

There were so many people on the bridge.

On the Death Railway. Everyone of us were sticking our head out the window to see the railway.

Reached Sai Yok Noi Waterfall and it was a 2 hrs stop. Quite disappointing to see the waterfall cos it was not the season for more water. Here we saw some guys at the top of the waterfall with binoculars.. What were they doing??What were they looking at?? Looking at women, ang moh wearing bikini?

I think I really drink a lot in Bangkok! Weather was hot! It was so shiok to drink icy cold soft drinks like coke! How I wished i was in my air con room office....

We had lunch around the area. Had this coconut ice cream and it tasted quite nice.

Too bored so we climb here and there taking photos to pass time.

The Memorial Park - 40 mins

We need to take a mini bus to reach this Memorial Park. The warriors who sacrificed themselves to war were quite young. They were in their 20s or 30s. Might need to run to catch the train cos when we reached back the station, the train were leaving and we had to board it while it started to move.

The train rides were bored, dusty and warm. The leaves, dust, particles blown in from the window and we had to cover our noise. When we wiped our face with wet towel, the towel turned black. We reached back Hua Lamphong around 1830hrs.
