12 Jan 2012 - Horlicks Doggie Cookies

http://happyhomebaking.blogspot.com/2007/01/horlicks-doggie-cookies.html

Recipe taken from above link

Ingredients:

(makes about 48 cookies)

180g butter, soften at room temperature

80g Horlicks (original flavour)

200g top flour or cake flour

25g corn flour

25g milk powder

100g chocolate chips

some chocolate rice

some Koko Krunch

Method:

1.Pre-heat oven to 140deg C. Line baking tray with baking paper and set aside.

2.Sieve top flour, corn flour and milk powder.

3.Cream butter and Horlicks for about three minutes at low speed. Do not overbeat.

4.Put in top flour, cornflour and milk powder and beat for about one minute to form dough.

5.Divide dough into 10g each. Put three chocolate chips into each piece of dough and roll into balls. (I put a lot of chocolate chips!)

May not be 10g...up to you ba...

6.Insert two pieces of Koko Krunch to form the 'ears', chocolate rice for the "eyes", and a chocolate chip in the centre for the 'nose'.

7.Bake at 140 deg C for about 25 minutes. Depending on your oven, it may take another 5 to 10 minutes more for the cookies to be ready.

8.Leave to cool on wire rack before storing in an airtight container.

Fresh from oven...

Hmm..no horlick taste...cos i placed too much chocolate chips? Well, I got sick of the cookie cos of the chocolate chips haha..

12 Jan 2012 - Melt in the mouth Pineapple balls

http://www.thelittleteochew.com/2010/01/pineapple-tarts-buttery-melt-in-your.html

Steps is the same as above and in my previous post

You may add milk powder as below link?
But even if without, using the recipe as above can achieve the melt in the mouth result! I love this Pineapple balls as compared to the tart! Maybe a little salt could be added to the pastry.

The pineapple balls being glazed

Added chocolate chips, haha..cos we got a lot. Then, we scared that it will melt..and would be ugly and we stopped.

Freshly out of oven

The pineapple balls were nice but too bad we only left with little pineapple paste so the filling for the balls were actually little. Mum commented that it was nice, the pastry was nice though the pineapple paste was little..hmm...
