Promotion A Happy thing..

I am not promoted, but I was in the Reception sub-com working as Floating ursher. Ok...not to emphasize what "Floating" mean here...Anyway, Promotion ceremony this year was well planned and organised! This year chairman/vice chairman or OIC,etc did a very good job in the planning! At least everyone know their role well and it was clearly stated!

Hmm...I was happy congratulating and directing the promotees after they had collected their dummy cert from DP when I saw some CPL promoting to rank of SGT. I saw their "service" tag. Their service was longer than me, it was a >15 yrs service tag or 20 years? Hmm..A CPL, promoted to SGT after >15 or 20 yrs of service?!!!!!!! Suddenly I felt sad, I could no longer smile at the rest of the promotees...Do they do something so wrong which stop them from being promoted?I don't know...sigh...

17 May 2011 - Vesak Day

Morning, visited some temples with sis family...

The temples were crowded! Brought my Canon s90 this time. Totally disappointed with the performance of Olympus EPL2. Hmm...I felt my canon is sharper...anytime, though it does not have the portrait effect. Eh..neither does EPL2 has it unless I change the lens to portrait lens. Hmm...The manual lens I bought was disappointing as well....

 Taken at home. This niece was in good mood today!

15 May 2011 - Visit to Old Kallang Airport

Last day of the Biennale, 15 May

We made our way to Old Kallang Airport. Hmm..How does it looks like?

Saw some "Art" pieces at the garden..

Love to create? Make badges, kites, pinwheels and even a bottle garden inspired by Martha Rosler, 2011 Biennale artist.

Badge making was quite fun! We designed/colored on the printout given, then the volunteers will help us make a badge!

Went to the main building to collect our goodie bag..and tour the art exhibit..

Love Art? More than half (32 of 63) of SB artists are presenting works at Old Kallang Airport Love tours?

Hmm..We should have rented the audio device. Else the artworks seems meaningless...

Hmm...the kids got to visit. Wonder they were like us? Blurred?

The wooden pieces were actually art pieces..the kids..touching, placing their hands in the "hole" and their teacher/volunteer has to tell them not to touch.

"The third edition of the Singapore Biennale (SB2011) opens its doors to the public from this Sunday, 13 March to 15 May 2011. Led by Artistic Director Matthew Ngui and curators Russell Storer and Trevor Smith, SB2011 Open House is organised by the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) of the National Heritage Board and supported by the National Arts Council, Singapore. 63 artists from 30 countries are presenting 161 works across four exhibition venues – SAM and SAM at 8Q, the National Museum of Singapore, Old Kallang Airport and Marina Bay."

2 May 11 - Farm tour

Sis checked out where to go. She saw this mushroom farm and called to ask whether we could visit. Yes and off we went..

We were given a brief tour on the mushroom in one of the "cabin".

Nothing much. They made mushroom "bak kua" and mushroom "Bak hu" and we bought some of them..

Violet not purposely pose beside car for me..just that I took a shot of her while she was standing there. Hmm..every photos of kids, violet and dash were candid shots. They wouldn't want to stand and pose for me. Especially when I asked them, they will run away...

Then, we went to some animal farm nearby..this place was more fun than the mushroom farm.

There is only 1 horse. Hmm..and lots of flies on horse face...

Violet was brave! She was not scared of the animal!

The peacock was caged. I had to take the picture thru the gap/hole between the "grill"..hmm...I still find it nice though I could not take the full peacock.
