Aurora Hunt

We were so lucky to view the Aurora at KP index 6! The whole sky was Aurora, changing from green...purple..Beautiful! We were lucky as the following days, we couldn't see any as it was cloudy! However, Liwei had her birthday wish came true as she hope to see snow and yes, it snowed for her!

Well, setting for taking picture of Aurora. We were no expert and we were not sure how to shoot the Aurora. We read from web and tried...Following what we used.
1. Set camera lens to Manual and not Autofocus.
2. Set lens to infinity.
3. Camera to Manual mode.
4. ISO 800
5. Shutter speed. 15-30 sec. the longer, the brighter picture. We set to 20 sec. 15 was a bit dark.
6. Just press the button and just shoot. Yes..no focusing required and we just take picture everywhere we liked.

I am using Nikon 7200 with Tamron 11-16mm lens F2.8. Set to Vivid mode if you are using Nikon.

I wish we could take video. It would be very beautiful to see the changing Aurora!

Back to our lodge...can't bare to leave the open place. So beautiful...the Aurora never stopped!

We still trying to take photo of us and Aurora.

Whole sky green!

In our Aurora Bubbles....Open space nicer.

Me trying to use my remote control...Stupid remote control...must be very near then it worked.

Aurora for whole night! But we had to sleep...as we got more activities the following day...
Believe me or not...I did not edit much for the photos except for cropping, straightening.
I do not have to "auto contrast" it...it was so beautiful!
