13 Nov 2013 - London

Breakfast at golden strand hotel include baked beans today. Ordered fried eggs instead of scrambled egg.

We going to tour around London before taking train to York at night.

From our hotel, we walked to Hammersmith station, take district line to Westminster station.
Saw the guide book I borrowed previously, they split London into different area. So first we visited the "Whitehall and Westminster" area.

↓ Houses of Parliament

↓ Big Ben

↓ St Margaret's Church

Interesting looking at the different countries, soldiers sacrificed.
Sad as some were really young.

I think this period was to pay respect to the soldiers who sacrificed their life.
We could see people wearing the red colour flower thing on the clothing.
Even Windsor castle, they pray for them during the change of guard ceremony.

↓ Westminster Abbey

↓ Cabinet War Room and Churchill Museum

Opposite was nice scenery.

Horses still exist here!
They went on round just for tourist sake?
Or it was still common mode of transport?

↓ Horse Guard Parade

The Guards Memorial

Siting on a horse better than standing?
Does he feel tired?

↓ Trafalgar Square

I really appreciate that it was not raining.
At least with the blue sky, everything turns out more colour.
Else, will be grey grey and my mood also grey.

Proceed to the next area, "Soho and Trafalgar Square"

↓ Admiralty Arch

They doing patrolling?

↓ National Portrait Gallery

↓ London Coliseum

↓ Leicester Square
The photos that I search on web looked large but it was actually a small park

↓ Inside M&M four storey shop. Everything was cute but expensive

Love the cup and felt like bringing one home..

↓ Chinatown

Chinese restaurant...nothing much there

↓ Shaftesbury Avenue

↓ Palace Theatres

↓ Berwick Street Market
Nothing much, only a few stalls seen.

↓ Carnaby Street, Shopping area

↓ Liberty

↓ Photographers' Gallery

Photographer gallery, nothing much to see also and I don't appreciate them.  It may tell a story of the photographer life but not appealing to me. It capture the pregnancy of someone, showing naked body which was unappealing. It's art...

"Piccadilly and St James's" area

↓ Royal Academy of Arts

↓ Shepherd Market

↓ Wellington Arch

↓ Buckingham Palace

We were tired and not to carry on with other area. Actually some of the area we had passed by when we trying to find our way. It was actually not big.

↓ Harrod

Harrods - Many security guard in suit.
They asked me to carry my backpack in front.
Worried that I broke their expensive items?
Well, everything here was branded.
It was crowded too.

I was really tired with the walking and I requested for a break.
Ordered these. Large Mocha turned out to be huge!
I didn't expect that.

Beside mocha was Black forest fancy

Ate this chicken fried noodle at Wasabi Sushi and Bento costs £4.40

Reached York around midnight.

We had problem searching for our hotel and we got no one to ask. The one we asked did not know the way, they were tourist too. Our hotel, Ibis, was actually right from train station. Then walked all the way down and turn left. It was at the left side. The room was big as compared to those we stayed. Actually it was not bad. Room large with bathtub. Hotel with lift too!
