23 May 2013 - 新北投泡温泉

Took their MRT to Xin Bei Tou station.
There were some cute display at the bei tou station, interchange station to Xin Bei Tou.

My itinerary for the day - Explore Xin Bei Tou.
One of the lazy plan actually as it was so easily accessible by MRT.

The only audience?

God for hot spring?

Nice drawing on the train.

Library at Xin Bei Tou,
 臺北市立圖書館北投分館
Saw blog post regarding this place. Said it was nice for photography.
Hmm...went in and came out. Saw a sign, no photography? Nothing much also?

北投溫泉博物館
Nice building and interior, basically Japanese style.

We followed the direction to the different attraction. Quite easy and nearby.

Travelling in Taiwan, think it would be best to wear jeans? Bring anti insect spray?
Been to Taiwan many times and everytime I would be bitten by the insect.

Travelled in May previously and it was rainy season and air con temperature.
This time, lucky, the rain stop but the sun came out and it was super hot!
Dad told us that Taipei was 36 degree! Singapore was only like 32 degree max?
Yes I came back becoming darker =(

Interior of the museum

Japanese style

We had to wear these in the museum.

It was so amazing! Even the drain nearby was smoky. The water was actually hot!
It was hot spring water that flowed down from somewhere!

梅庭 (Plum Garden)

親水公園露天溫泉浴池(千禧湯)
This was actually near Plum Garden.
There were different timing for entry.
We waited for 1030hrs before we could buy ticket and entered the hot spring.
It was cheap, cost us only TW40. Towel not provided.
It was public pool with different temperature of water.
We were told to soak ourselves for 15mins and rest for 30mins before we could soak ourselves in the hot spring again.
Well, there were many old aunties and uncles who would provide advice.

地熱谷 (Thermal Valley)

I found this place interesting. Amazing!
The water temperature was 90 degree. How it kept to be that hot?
Where did the hot water came from?

I was not sure where we were walking.

普濟寺

北投文物館 were so far and we gave up walking!
Walking long way and walking back to where we came from.

Our lunch from 7 Eleven.
Red bean soup, some egg, some sushi roll.

We went to Shi Lin. We were too early! I think we reached there around 3 plus?
Well, the shops were not opened.
Went to have some dessert.

Waited very long for the dessert.
Entertaining ourselves...

Mum's order
Mango Ice, cost TW150

My order, soya bean curd with red bean, peanut and pearl.

Well, saw the news that the pearl or rather items made with the same flour was poisonous and would harm human body.

Shi Lin night market.

Our dinner, My order 麻辣鸭血锅, cost TW60 plus
