23 Aug 2011 - Fox Glacier to Wanaka

Checked out of Fox glacier inn and waited for intercity bus opposite Fox Glacier Guide building. Set out to Wanaka around 9am. Total journey 5 hrs 45mins. We had stops for tea break, scenary breaks, etc. I like Intercity bus,

Our 1st tea break stop, Salmon fish farm. They sold salmon sandwich which I never tried. It was actually a cafe with small salmon fish farm beside.

↓ Outside of the fish farm near bus stopping area.

↓ Nothing to do..

Our next stop around 1040hrs at "Knight Point"
Not sure why I wrote "Te Wahipounamu" in my notes...

 ↓ View from Knight Point

Not sure why Haast was in my notes as well and I stated 1120hrs. Did we make a stop?
1216hrs, we visited the Thundercreek waterfall.

↓ Not sure this photo was which area...

1300hrs Makaroa
1400hrs Lake Hawea

 ↓ Our bus

↓ Not sure where taken from the bus.

Another stop for tea break? tried Magnum Big Choc Bikkie..Hmm..not that nice? Ice cream not as smooth as Singapore's?

 ↓ Yet to try these

↓ Beautiful Lake Hawea Stop

↓ Simply love the mirror image!

↓ Some Japanese tour mate took for us...He must have think we spoilt the nice scenary thats why we were so small at the corner. There's another he took worse!

Our hostel below at Wanaka. Like chalet, 2 room when entered, shared kitchen and toilet. Housed 4 pax.
ie, 2 twin room, 1 kitchen, 1 living room, 1 toilet.
We shared the room with 2 "ang moh"

We had problem locating our hostel. Some gal saw us looking at the map and she offered to help. Though she did not give us much clue, she is not sure herself, but at least we appreciate it. Managed to find the hostel on our own anyway.

↓ After putting down our luggage, we went for a walk around, Supermarket, and the below Lake Wanaka

↓ Set my shuttle speed to capture flying birds.

 ↓ Specially stayed for sunset

↓ The birds seems to queue up

From a peaceful, quiet Fox Glacier to Wanaka which was more happening as people passed by here as they wanted to go ski. Ski was not in my plan as me and my friend would consider to be learner and we had to sign up for 1/2 day course or so to learn ski. I believe there were lesson available but I was just lazy to search for that.
