The scenery from backpacker to Huka fall was awesome!
Its good that we walked! I saw those tour group comfortably been driven to the Huka fall but then would miss out the nice scenery alone the river.

Walked from Huka Fall to Crater of the moon, estimated 40 mins.
The walk was mostly upslope. Terrible walk with no scenery to divert our attention.
Nothing much in Crater of the Moon.
After going to so many geothermal attraction, we find this place boring.
Really not worth the walk though entry fee only NZ 8
Completed Crater of the moon. Thinking of walking back to Taupo was a torture.
Estimated 2 hr walk.
I could not stand it and I saw a vehicle going out from Crater of the Moon and I stopped.
Looking at the vehicle and the nice person actually wind down his window and I asked if he could give us a ride out. He sent us back to Taupo central! Save us from walking and we need not have to rush as we are actually catching the bus back to Auckland.
We reached Taupo Central around 1255. Our bus to Auckland was 1550. We walked around and had our lunch at Thai restaurant. I ordered tom yam noodle soup cost nz 15. Nice. Chong ordered red curry chicken.

Lousy hotel with passcode to enter the passageway to our room. Building with lift. We stay at the 1st floor. The toilet at the same level was under maintenance and we had to go up to 2nd floor to use the toilet. The mattress stink and not thick. The worse that we had stayed!
