Day 1 of Bangkok trip. This time purely shopping.
Reached BKK and we still had time before the rest reached. We took a cab to Chinatown, Sampang Street where the cloth shops were. We had a hard time finding the shops...I remember we saw this "Grand China Princess hotel", then followed the shop house number and managed to locate the shops.
Ok..well, before that, we saw shops selling, belts, bags...etc..Actually there are quite a lot of things in Chinatown! I never know it! All this while, I only been to Chinatown for dinner.
You will find big toys too!
Finally found the cloth shops! The cloth were cheaper than Singapore I think. Usual, $5? ok...think most expensive was 100 babt. Around SGD 4. Exchange rate, SGD 1 = 24.4 babt. (exchange rate in Eastpoint. The last I changed for Yuling was 24.6!)
Ok..After buying around SGD 100 of cloth, we tried taking cab to our hotel. Hmm..I think the cab in BKK is horrible! They do not use meter, most of them do not. When the journey cost less than 50 babt, they will quote 100, 200 and even worse 400 babt! ok. We took tuk tuk to our hotel.
We had a hard time communicating with the driver. Showing him the map with English words did not help. But the hotel was near Asia hotel, so roughly, gauge the location.

Some mango drink. Their mango, real mango were so sweet and nice! Wanted to buy some but it was big! My luggage could not accomodate...buy 1...I have to eat it for few days.
