10 Apr 2015 - Tokyo

Went to somewhere near for breakfast, not much variety, we were too early? Or the Japanese does not eat their breakfast out?
Well, no choice so we had our breakfast at this restaurant.

Ramen cost 500 yen

After our breakfast, we took the train from Nishiwaseda station to Shinjuku Sanchome station and walked to Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden (新宿御苑)

With the Passmo card, it was so convenient, it could be used everywhere in Tokyo.

We had our bag checked at the entrance of the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden.
Ticket to the garden cost 200 yen, purchase it either from machine or at the counter.
We purchased the ticket from the machine. I did not even show my ticket as there was nobody around to check. Japanese really trusted everyone? I could easily just go in without a ticket.
hmm...even our room in the hostel was not locked and the owner said it was safe.

The Sakura flower had dropped...
ie, we could not see much there. Chong told me she saw video clip of China people plucking the flowers in japan..hmm...

Ok, what so pretty about Sakura?
It does not have much color, as in its color looked like white? Light pink?
So what so pretty about it?

Learnt from some ang moh in the following photo. He went in, surrounded by sakura and asked his wife to take a picture for him.

Camera set at somewhere

Meiji Jingu (明治神宮)
Had a hard time finding location to this place.
Ok, exit from Sendagaya gate and asked around how to go to Meiji Jingu.
The Japanese were kind enough to search on their handphone and gave you the direction.
Though they could not speak English well, we were able to know the direction from where they pointed.

We walked a long way like walking in forest. I guess it was Yoyogi park, as we walked from beginning till end of the park to search for this Meiji Jingu.

Ok this was interesting. During the peak hour, the female can take the following part of the train. True, the cabin, only female allowed.

Ueno Park (上野公園)

Food stall at Ueno park
This spaghetti cost 300 yen and I bought it.
It tasted like some potato chips snack.
Not bad actually. I kept it till next day as I could not finish and nobody wana share it with me. Anyway, it was still crispy the next day and I did not seal it.
Ok..saw packet of spaghetti at the stall. Really spaghetti made? maybe can try eating spaghetti?

No more Sakura in Ueno park.

Walking towards the Ueno station and we saw the Ameyoko Shopping Street (アメ横商店街連合会)
In my map from google, this street was quite far, ok, as it direct me to the end of the shopping street I think.

Japanese Honeydew was very sweet! Cost 200 yen per stick.

Sensoji (浅草寺)

This cost 180 yen.

Tokyo Tower (東京タワー)
It was raining, Sky was grey.

View below from some temple or graveyard.
Temple with a lot of graveyard behind. Scary, We thought we could access to the tower from there and we gave up.

Back to Shinjuku and we had our dinner there.

Back to our hostel.
