Eco Camp is located in Mawai Lama, approximately 20 minutes drive from Kota Tinggi town. The campsite boasts of unique long houses built by the Orang Asli, along the bank of Sedili River. The long house, fitted with canvas beds on poles, has no wall panels to obstruct our view of the surrounding forest. At night, kerosene lamps and moonlight illuminate the place. This campsite is a wonderful place for ecology, flora and fauna studies as well as watching birds…or simply just to be close to nature; undoubtless, a photographer’s haven. Take the river cruise at night and watch fireflies light up the vegetation along the river banks like Christmas trees in the night. A truly fascinating sight!
Programme:
DAY 1
Assemble at Newton Circus car park 0800 hrs
(take attendance and travel document admin)
Depart for Eco Camp
Arrive at Eco Camp/ Safety Briefing
Setting up canvas beds
Asli Water Obstacle
(9 different ways of crossing water, having fun getting wet)
Dinner (Self Cook)
Solo Night Walk/ Firefly Cruise
DAY 2
Breakfast
Depart Mawai for Gunung Arong
Set off for Gunung Arong (300m)
Lunch at summit (Packed lunch prepared from campsite)
Back at base point (nearby village)
Assemble and depart for Eco Camp
Back at Eco Camp
Wash up
Dinner
Campfire and sing-a-long
DAY 3
Breakfast
Swampforest Walk with nature guide
(Learning about the ecology of the forest, nature appreciation and some jungle survival skill)
Wash up/ Pack up
Depart Eco Camp
Shopping at Jusco (optional)
Arrive at Singapore (subjected to traffic congestion at customs during this period)
Package includes:
