Q_Q: Bangkok Trip 1 Mar

Travelled alone. Bored.

Reached Airport. First thing was to update my Ipad and iphone's software. I did not subscribe to any broadband at home, only using my iphone to surf web. I had to make use of the Wifi to update my applications.

Check in online before departure. I liked jetstar as I could choose the seat I wanted. Too bad nobody travelled with me. Though I check in online, I still had to queue to collect my boarding pass even without check in luggage.

Reached Bangkok, took their train to Praya Thai, it cost me 45 babt. CHEAP!

Exchange rate, 24.6. Now, the exchange rate was not good.

I wanted to buy back whole Bangkok! HAHA.

I only brought a haversack with me. With my ipad, camera, it weighed around 5kg.
I bought back 10kg of items!

Walk from Praya Thai to Asia hotel. I was not sure the way.

Wanted to take BTS but it was only one stop.

I decided to venture...I looked around....

ok..I saw railway, facing the railway walked left.

I saw a dim sum restaurant and walked straight.

Siam swana hotel was located opposite Asia hotel but have to walk a bit further.

The sushi restaurant at the hotel should be nice? It was always crowded the whole day. Long queue especially at night.

Hotel was also crowded as people drove there to drink or visit the Japanese restaurant.

Well, I had to compare this hotel with "Bangkok City Hotel"

Siam Swana hotel, booked online via their web, cost me 1500 babt per night without breakfast. It was around SGD 60+ per night.

Bangkok City Hotel, if i booked online, it would cost around SGD 50 or less with breakfast.

The room in Bangkok City hotel was larger.

Location wise, both around same distance away from Ratchathewi BTS.

I would prefer Bangkok City Hotel.

Walked from hotel to Platinum Mall.

Crossed over to the other side of the Ratchathewi BTS then followed the path down. (Walked straight and turn right)

Shopped till around 7pm Bangkok time and went back to hotel. Went to the restaurant near hotel.

Dinner near hotel. Sian to eat alone cos I wanted to order more but could not finish.

People looked at me finishing these alone =(

Day 2, went to Chatuchak (Mo Chit BTS)

I really felt bored walking the market alone.

Nice Coconut Ice cream, 30 babt

Bought this from some "cart" near Ratchathewi BTS.

10 Babt per stick x 2. Nice though did not look hygiene.

The cart not always there cos I went back the next day, could not find the cart.

Went to Phrom Phong BTS after Chatuchak. Went to visit the Naraya Shop there. Saw from web, people commented that the shop there with 2 storey and stock mostly available. It was less crowded also. IT WAS TRUE!
