Taiwan Trip Day 2

16 Feb 10

Checked out, met at lobby 8.30am.
We were early so we walked around hotel for photo taking.

1st stop - Leofoo Village Theme Park & Safari 六福村主題遊樂園 (新竹縣)

1st, We went for bus ride to "open" zoo. Lions, bears, monkeys, can't remember how many types of animals, but not that much. Though Singapore zoo is small, but we need around 1 day to complete the whole area including the show time. Here, the zoo part, think only take 2 - 3 hrs to complete.

2nd, We went for train ride to view other animals such as giraffe, ostrich, etc. The zoo cannot be accessed by walking I think. Never saw any tracks to visit the animal. Entertained ourselves by taking photos....

3rd, free time to go for the rides in theme park. So disappointed. I did not try any of the rides cos he doesn't want to play. Not even on the Merry go round.....

Finally we went to queue up for the kid's ride but gave up cos of the meeting time =(

Our lunch was not included. According to the itinerary, we had to consume lunch in the theme park. But our kind tour guide said that food is expensive in the park, he would stop somewhere where we could find food.

We went in to this shop with the tour guide, not sure whether its nice. Ordered beef noodles and my husband ordered 卤肉饭 and dumplings. The beef noodles and 卤肉饭 were nice, the dumplings were so so. In the end, the tour guide paid for our meals.

Took a snap shot of the aunties cooking in the stall. Should have asked them whether i could do that. They said they were not nicely dressed and should wear cheong sam =P

2nd stop - D.I.Y Seasonal Fruit Picking, 苗栗 Fruit Farm
Went for fruit picking. I thought the farm was opened farm but its not. The only fruit we could pick was tomatoes. I saw strawberries but we were not allowed to enter that section cos its not the season for it yet. Fruit picking was not free. You had to pay for the fruits that you plucked.

So many different kind of tomatoes. Europe, holland, japan and africa tomatoes. Somemore Holland butter tomatoes?Taste like butter?????

We bought strawberries with chocolate topping. The strawberries were so sweet! They were so delicious. Our tour guide advised not to buy the dried fruits? I can't remember what items cannot be purchased. He said they added coloring to make the thing looked attractive. Hmm...wondering whether our strawberries.......

Kids enjoying themselves making muah chi.

Dinner at Qian Ye Shabu Shabu. There were many many people waiting for their turn. Our tour guide had made reservation so we did not wait very long. It was buffet style with many variety! There were some ready food like onion rings, shishamo, etc. They also had dessert like cakes, ice cream, pudding. Yummy!
